Richard Smith is a registered architect with over  thirty years experience in a wide range of build-
ing types. He has particular expertise in library planning and design, and he has been the lead
designer for renovation and expansion of many historic  libraries.  His work on library design in
Massachusetts is well regarded by both library clients and the MBLC, with many successful com-
pleted projects, and he has also  designed projects awarded MHC Preservation Projects Fund grants
in Springfield, Ipswich, Westford, Beverly, and Topsfield.
